If you want to learn more about how to build a basic woodshed, we recommend you to pay attention to the instructions described in the article. Always work with attention and adjust the size of the components to your needs before starting the actual assembly of the wood shed. Align the components alt both ends and drill pilot holes before inserting the screws, to prevent the wood from splitting.
Select the right simple wood shed plans for your needs and invest in high-quality materials before assembling the wood shed. Pressure-treated lumber is a good choice as it combines the durability with a decent cost. Plumb the posts with a spirit level and make sure the rails are horizontal, before locking them into place with galvanized screws. Place the rails equally-spaced to get a professional result.

Building a wood shed
The first step of the woodworking project is about building the frame of the floor. As you can easily notice in the plans, we recommend you to cut the 2×4 components at the right size and to lock them together using galvanized screws. Drill pilot holes before inserting the screws, to prevent the wood from splitting.
Continue the project by attaching 2×4 decking boards to the frame. Make sure you place the decking boards equally-spaced, leaving between them enough space to drain the excess water. Drill pilot holes through the slats before inserting the 2 1/2″ screws, to prevent the wood from splitting.
Continue the woodworking project by attaching the 2×4 posts to the exterior of the frame, as shown in the plans. Work with attention and plumb the posts before inserting the screws, to get the job done in a professional manner.
Continue the woodworking project by attaching the slats to the sides of the wood shed. Cut the components at the right size, align them at both ends and secure them into place with galvanized screws.
Attach the slats to the back of the wood shed, as shown in the image. Place the slats on top of the slats to make sure they are perfectly horizontal. Lock all the components tightly, in order to create a rigid structure.
Last but not least, you should take care of the finishing touches. Therefore, we recommend you to check if the components are locked into place properly and structure is rigid enough to support the firewood. Make sure there are no protruding screws or sharp edges.
PRO TIP:Â Fill the holes with a good wood filler and smooth the surface with medium-grit sandpaper. Apply several coats of paint or stain over the components, in order to protect them from decay. Check out the rest of the project to learn more about building garden projects.
