  • 1 – 2 pieces of 2×10 lumber – 14” LEGS
  • 2 – 1 pieces of 2×8 lumber – 29″ STRETCHER
  • 3 – 2 pieces of 2×12 lumber – 40″ SEAT

  • 1 piece of 2×12 lumber – 8 ft
  • 1 piece of 2×8 lumber – 3 ft
  • 1 piece of 2×10 lumber – 3 ft
  • 50 pieces of 2 1/2″ screws
  • wood stain
  • wood glue

The first step of the woodworking project is to build the legs for the wooden bench. In order to get the job done in a professional manner, we recommend you to mark the cut lines on the legs and the get the job done with a circular saw. Smooth the edges with sandpaper and remove the residues with a vacuum.

Drill pocket holes at both ends of the wooden stretcher and secure them to the legs by inserting 2 1/2″ galvanized screws. Make sure the corners are square and leave no gaps between the components. Add glue to enhance the rigidity of the structure. Drill pocket holes along the top edge of the stretcher using a jig.

If you want to get the job done in a professional manner, we recommend you to make the seat of the bench in a professional manner. Mark the cut lines on the piece of lumber and get the job done with a circular saw. Smooth the edges with sandpaper.

Center the frame of the bench to the seat and insert 2 1/2″ screws through the stretcher into the sea. Make sure you leave no gaps between the components and add glue to enhance the rigidity of the joints.

Last but not least, you should take care of the finishing touches. Therefore, we recommend you to check if the components are locked into place properly and structure is rigid enough for your garden. Make sure there are no protruding screws or sharp edges.
